Showcasing the intuitive process has long been my dream. And it’s one I am fulfilling right now! This clip was taken a while back but the joy is timeless. https://vimeo.com/103296763
Express yourself and promote your own groove!
I’m known as The Happy Medium for a reason and not just because I’m a medium! I’ve found a way to find balance in the most atrocious, ridiculous, and humorous situations. I can find my way in the dark even when some bully of a ghost locks me in my friend’s powder room, pulls my hair or yells in my ear. I’m tough that way and I owe much of it to my intuition.
I’m not so tough in most other ways however, but I’ve learned how swing with it. As I wrote in The Happy Medium, (Llewellyn, 2009) “..It’s all about maintaining balance and finding the happy medium. In my experience, you have to trust and know yourself deeply to grow intuitively. It is a wonderful way to go through life. Maintaining balance not only helps you find your groove and promote your shine, it helps you sustain it.”
These are true and pretty words if I do say so myself. But going through the down moments of life and finding balance isn’t pretty. This has been a big year for me personally and a busy one for my family. My husband Jason and I are raising two sharp teen-aged boys and one sage pre-teen girl. Reliving those electric years through the eyes of my children has been and is remarkable, and a bit exhausting. They are sailing along fine, thank G-d. I’ve struggled through some minor health issues this year that felt gigantic to me and turned down some amazing prospective arrangements, both book related and television, as in national television. The way I showcase the intuitive process means the world to me, and anything that would or could fall short would make me feel cloudy and a not so happy medium. So I helped a few opportunities go away.
I have given up a thousand times in my head but I have never given in to those who insist that I should not be who I am. As the Talmud says, “The Highest form of wisdom is kindness.” So I extend kindness and forgiveness to those who think small and I use my imagination and intuition to help me think big. And thinking BIG is what this blog post is about.
Life is about expressing yourself, following your heart, trusting your gut and using your head. When you can’t find your happy, go for a walk, eat some healthy foods and sit quietly and listen to the sound of your breath. Make a habit of it and your general mood will start to lift automatically. Now it will be far easier to integrate your instincts into your own environment. Your instincts can not only help you think big, they can help you find a way to make big things happen!
Then go find a delicious piece of chocolate and do a search on the internet for words of encouragement. Here are a few I found!
“Anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you.” David Whyte
“It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else.” Erma Bombeck
“Holy is the supernatural extra brilliant intelligent kindness of the soul.” Allen Ginsberg
“Our life is frittered away by detail . . . simplify, simplify.” Henry David Thoreau
“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.” Theodore Roosevelt
“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.” Lou Holtz
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, I’m possible!” Audrey Hepburn
“Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.” Babe Ruth
“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” Oscar Wild
“The Purpose of our lives is to be happy” Dalai Lama
Find your balance and promote your own groove and your shine! Remember that you are not given a dream without the possibility of a pleasing outcome.
